The Changsha Station of Immigration Inspection has processed 400,000 inbound and outbound trips this year as of May 17, which is 15 days earlier than the same number was reached last year, said the Hunan General Station of Immigration Inspection on May 19, 2025. Among these passengers, nearly 170,000 foreigners have been checked and inspected, up 9% year on year. Those who enjoyed mutual visa exemption, unilateral visa exemption, and transit visa exemption accounted for 89% of the total.

Since December 17 of last year, the 72-hour visa-free transit policy originally implemented at the Changsha port has been optimized to 240 hours. Thanks to the 240-hour visa-free transit policy, nearly 1,300 foreign visits involving entry and exit through Changsha were made over the past five months. The visitors came from 15 countries, with the largest numbers coming from the United Kingdom, the United States, and Russia.

Nearly 234,000 mainland residents have exited and entered through the Changsha port, a year-on-year increase of 15%. Among these, more than 70% chose Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Kenya, and Cambodia as their destinations for overseas travel.

Nearly 180 flights link Changsha with 12 cities in 10 countries weekly, including London, United Kingdom; Nairobi, Kenya; Bangkok and Chiang Mai, Thailand; Seoul, South Korea; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Tokyo, Japan; Phnom Penh, Cambodia; Vientiane, Laos; Singapore; and Hanoi and Nha Trang, Vietnam. Passenger flights between Changsha and Osaka of Japan will be resumed on June 1.
